Opening zipped files from Data Export or Nightly Sync Reports

Linxworks Manager’s DTS/data export zipped files have an extension of .dts_archive.  This was set up to overcome issues with zipped files, viruses and fire wall restrictions at some equipment dealers. To open these zipped files make sure you have unzipping software (e.g. WinZip or 7zip) installed on your computer (always check with your IT dept. before installing any software.)

 TO OPEN .DTS_ARCHIVE FILES: using WinZip as the example:

1. Open the email

2. Save the attachment to your desktop

3. Right mouse click the attachment, from the drop down Click “OPEN WITH…”

4. Choose WINZIP or WINZIP EXECUTABLE from the software list.

5. Click the check box at the bottom “Always use this program to open these files“.

6. Click OK

Once this “.dts_archive” extension is associated with WinZip, your computer will now recognize these attachments and open them automatically with a double click.

Photo Upload and Internet Explorer 10

If you are having issues with the photo upload facility and Internet Explorer 10, make sure the “Compatibility View Settings” in your browser under Tools has the Linxworks.com website added to the Compatibility View.

Quick spreadsheet of your equipment – CSV OUPUT

Linxworks’ MANAGER allows users to create a quick CSV file (similar to an Excel spreadsheet) of their Manager search results.  You can EDIT your inventory, check on the “Select info to be displayed in list” boxes you want to display and then click VIEW INVENTORY.  Using the CSV OUTPUT link in the top left hand corner of your results, they can then be easily exported as a comma-separated values (CSV) file.  Works with the QUOTE tool, as well.  These are permission driven tools that can be granted to users by their MANAGER Administrator or  CONTACT US for more information from Linxworks’ Support.

Data Export your heavy equipment listings to a data file

Use the DATA EXPORT utility to extract information about your new, rental and used equipment listings into a CSV file (like a spreadsheet.) Takes approximately 0.6 seconds per inventory record and is then emailed to your inbox.
